Devilish Dexter - The New Breed of Hero

Is it our state of mind and the state of our society that we find ourselves relating to our favourite serial killer Dexter? I remember watching the first episode and thought, don't blame you Dexter, as he rifles through life's existence in his head. Or is it just me. What is it that we are drawn to him. Is it the dark humour of the writers/author, or is the actor/character that plays him so well. Dexter is so dysfunctional that a lot of us do relate to him on a lot of levels. Listen to his thoughts and viewpoints of his world, emotionally cut off from everyone else, trying to do things in life just to fit in and I find myself nodding my head in agreement.

Doakes "You give me the creeps, Dexter"
Dexter "yeah, I know, sorry about that!"

I heard about this show back in 2007 before it was aired, and couldn't wait till it reached our UK shores, and the same goes for our Chuck. Both I did previews and reviews on my tripod websites, before they were seen on TV in the UK. Both shows have become a phenomenal success and a smash hit. I did a review of Chuck even before it was seen on US TV, before everyone else, and now, ahhh, my Chuck, I am so proud.
Chuck survived the writer's strike. For its first season, along with other of the premier seasons of 2007, Chuck had to endure that first nail biting crucial first season jitters. But where others were axed due to the writer's strike and the mess the strike left behind, Chuck, our disgruntled nerdy spy, survived the chop and and now we are into the third season.
Dexter, well, bloody hell, what can I say. From the previews and clips I have seen of the current season, we are in for another good TV session with our anti-hero. Again this show plays with our minds and moral values, who is good and who is evil. Dexter has been receiving awards left right and centre, including a recent Golden Globe award or two.

Here is my first review when I first caught the devilish Dexter on our UK TV screens
